Now that the summer is upon us in the northern hemisphere I think every man and his dog is probably eyeing up the old barbecue sitting in the shed but he faces a huge question – What to cook? Grilled spring lamb cutlets of course. We are not all experts at cooking on fire but we all love the summer sun, the smell of slowly grilling and gently smoking food with a cold beverage not far a way.
The usual suspects like burnt sausages and dried burgers will inevitably rear their ugly heads somewhere but, that doesn’t have to be true to you. With this dish you will wow yourself, your family and friends and it takes very little skill to prepare. So what to cook?
Spring lamb has a certain nostalgia for me when it comes to summer barbecue season. Ever since I was a child we had these on regular occasion and I can not think of a single person that do not like them(that excludes our veggie friends of course). Of all the variety that made it to the grill – these spring lamb cutlets has always been my favourite.
There is quite simply nothing as pleasing as gnawing on one of these with an ice-cold beer in your hand in the hot summer sun. Nothing! So to share my memories of fun in the sun with you – here is my version of a piece of meat on the fire(very manly, I know) in a way that everyone can enjoy it.
…and don’t worry a lonely burnt bit is fine…
